Traces the beginning of streetcar service in Seattle in 1884. The first car was tiny and ran from Pioneer Square to Pike street and was pulled by horses. By 1896 thirteen companies were running streetcars powered by electricity and cables. Seattle Electric Co acquired almost all the independent railways and made vast improvements and by 1910 they had 103 million annual passengers. Black/white photos detail the history.
