Railway Post Office Baggage Car #280

 Built by the St. Louis Car Manufacturing Co. in 1914 for Great Northern

This Railway Post Office (RPO) was created by the St. Louis Car Manufacturing Co. in 1914 and ran on the Great Northern Railroad. RPO’s were first introduced in the United States in 1862 establishing the first permanent route in 1864. RPO trains ran up until 1960.


This car is now used for storage.
