This 45 ton, 500 volt DC electric locomotive was built in 1901. It originally was used by the Great Falls Smelter Railway, then by the Boston & Montana Consolidated Copper & Silver Mining Co.
The locomotive was repainted black from its original paint and "Inland Empire System" text was added (although not original to the Spokane are or the actual Inland Empire System).
